TAUTUA - HUMAN DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL

A partnership between the Governments of Samoa and Australia

Our Story

Tautua – Human Development for All is an eight-year partnership (2021–2029) between the Governments of Samoa and Australia, focused on strengthening Samoa’s human development systems through inclusive, locally driven solutions. The Program supports improved outcomes across education, health, gender equality, disability and social inclusion, social protection, and emergency response. Grounded in the Samoan value of tautua (service), the program builds institutional capacity, connects government and civil society, and promotes evidence-based, culturally rooted approaches to address complex challenges like stagnant learning outcomes, rising health risks, and access to inclusive services helping Samoa build a more resilient and equitable future.

It’s the invaluable relationships we’ve built and the people we’ve connected with through Tautua that have truly made an impact to our program and the learning journey for the youth of our small and isolated village, Piu.

Getting qualified means, we’re not just doing the job, we’re doing it with the right skills, knowledge, and recognition. For many, this is the first time we’ve been able to take part in a specialised course in our field, and I am thankful to Brenda, NUS, and the Tautua team for making it happen.
