The Government of Samoa and Government of Australia have consolidated their partnership through the Australia – Samoa Development Partnership Plan 2024–2030 (DPP). Aligned with Australia's integrated approach, Tautua is designed to work in tandem with the Tautai Governance and Economic Growth program (Tautai) to bolster service delivery within Samoa’s development framework.

What Tautua aims to achieve.
Samoans especially women and girls, youth, persons with disabilities, the vulnerable and those living in hardship have more equitable access to health, education, disability and social protection.
Samoans benefit from the delivery of more inclusive, gender responsive and higher quality health, education, community and social protection services.
Tautua is an effective partnership between the Governments of Samoa and Australia that supports Samoa's human development priorities and contributes positively to the bilateral relationship.
The Tautua Human Development for All program (Tautua) supports Samoa in unlocking progress on four critical social issue areas:

Reducing the rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Fa'aitiitia tagata e a'afia i Fa'ama'i lē pipisi.

Reducing the vulnerability of those whose rights & personal safety are threatened.
Fa'aititia tulaga ma'ale'ale mo e faigata ona fa'atino a latou aia tatau e fai ai a latou filifiliga, ma i latou ua lamatia le saogalemu.

Boosting Samoa's health system by supporting advanced diagnostics, training local health professionals, and expanding community care and stronger outreach so every Samoan family stays healthier.

Strengthening Samoa's education system by supporting evidence-based reforms, empowering teachers, and building resilient, community-driven programs that help every learner thrive.

Focus on tackling key social challenges by working hand-in-hand with government, community groups and civil society organisations to strengthen social support, respond to crises, and promote inclusion.

Champion equity by embedding gender equality, disability rights, and social inclusion objectives across all projects with a focus on ensuring no one is left behind in the development of Samoa.

Enhance Samoa's social protection systems to safeguard vulnerable populations, enabling resilience and dignity through inclusive support and sustainable safety nets.
